Every ingredient is a powerful anti-inflammatory

This Topical of the Year winner is a surprisingly potent cannabis oil that offers dual-purpose benefits: it calms inflammation and pain both on and under the skin. Fans say they prefer it because the scent is so different from most pain-relieving balms and oils — no menthol or camphor smell and won’t irritate your skin or your nose. In fact, breathe it in deeply for an added aromatherapy lift.

The secret to Deep Calm's effectiveness is that every ingredient is a powerful anti-inflammatory, natural phytonutrient and antioxidant — all verifiably healing:

  • Organic, full-spectrum, whole-flower cannabis
  • Organic olive oil, comfrey, chamomile, calendula, lavender and frankincense
  • Supporting cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids

Highest quality cannabis oil

  • Purity, safety and label accuracy verified by independent lab
  • 3 times more THC than CBD for optimal pain relief
  • Made with OCal-certified organic, full-spectrum cannabis
  • 99.5% certified organic ingredients
  • Award-winning
  • Non-psychoactive

Certificate of Analysis (COA) test results

All of our products are made of nourishing, real plants and are free of potentially harmful ingredients too often found in cosmetics — including parabens, phthalates, sulfates, PEGs, PFAS, colorants, added fragrance, etc.

In addition, an independent lab tests every small batch of our products for potency and purity. The results prove that our products are free of over 100 contaminants, from pesticides and microbial impurities, to mycotoxins and heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium), to residual solvents and processing chemicals. Every product, every batch. We know of no other cosmetics company that goes to these lengths to assure customers of the purity and safety of their products.

Bonus: We add no fragrance to our products — the delicate scent stems from the natural botanicals inside.

Vegan and cruelty-free

Despite the cute bee in our name and logo, which sometimes makes people think we use honey in our products, we avoid all animal-derived ingredients, and we never, ever test on animals.

We’re Leaping Bunny and PETA certified vegan and cruelty-free.

Non-psychoactive

Our products are non-psychoactive, as the THC molecules will not go into your bloodstream through the skin. We include THC in our full-spectrum cannabis products for its healing effects on the skin – no high required.

Starting January 1st, 2022 we will be a member of 1% for the Planet and enthusiastically support their mission to build an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. We also contribute to environmental causes and social justice causes.

olive derived organic squalene plant based squalene

Olive Oil

(OLEA EUROPEA)

High in oleic acid, organic olive oil is helpful as a skin penetrator and helps all the goodness in our massage oil get even deeper into your skin.  Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, olive oil contains other healing components such as α-tocopherol, carotenoids, squalene, phytosterols, and chlorophyll. Food for your face for healthier skin!

frankincense oil for skin

Francincense

(Boswellia carterii)

Frankincense, along with Myrrh, has been revered since ancient times as more valuable than gold. They both come from trees in the same plant family, Burseraceae or incense tree family. Loaded with powerful anti-inflammatory properties, frankincense is an effective natural remedy to calm irritated or damaged skin.

Myrrh

Myrrh

(Commiphora myrrha)

We work with Eden Botanicals to get all our essential oils and extracts (all but cannabis!) The warm, sweet-earthy, smooth, dense and rich myrrh we use is a CO2 extract from the thick red resin of the African myrrh tree that has been used for centuries for ointments and perfumes. It’s magical against dry, irritated skin. Terpene-rich myrrh contains skin-soothing and brightening limonene, bacteria-fighting germacrene, anti-fungal curzerene and magnesium

Chamomile

Chamomile

(Matricaria chamomilla)

Chamomile contains powerful antioxidants including polyphenols and phytochemicals such as bisabolol and chamazulene which are believed to be responsible for its effects. Great for sensitive skin it is very soothing while protecting from free radical damage. Chamomile may also help with redness and acne and relieve itching and inflammation. Ahh!

Lavender skin benefits

Lavender

(Lavandula angustifolia)

We use only the finest organic essential oils in our products–a little goes a long way–and lavender is one of our favorites! One of the main terpenes in lavender is linalool which has calming properties both for the skin and the mind. Lavender is packed with powerful anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that, together with THC and CBD, help the skin heal itself.

Calendula marigold

Calendula

(Calendula officinalis)

Calendula is very beneficial to the skin and imparts a warm, green scent. It is used in products targeted at sensitive skin because it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiseptic effects. There are dozens of components that enhance these benefits plus wound healing and brightening, including triterpenoids–particularly faradiol monoester, flavonoids, carotenoids, resin, and volatile oils.

Rosemary oil

Rosemary leaf

(Rosmarinus officinalis)

A potent antioxidant, rosemary leaf extract protects the skin and prevents damage from UV rays.  Rosmarinic acid from rosemary leaf is also powerfully healing for skin conditions like eczema and acne. In addition to its soothing and uplifting scent, rosemary also has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal benefits.

Cannabidiol

CBD

(Cannabidiol)

CBD extract from the flowers of the Cannabis sativa plant interacts with CB1 and CBD2 receptors all over our body – in what’s called the endocannabinoid system – to promote balance and optimal functioning. In our skin it helps normalize sebum production and its anti-inflammatory properties are just one of the ways it may help with issues such as acne, eczema and psoriasis.

Cannabigerol

THC

(Tetrahydrocannabinol)

THC or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. We love THC for skin because of its proven antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and pain relieving benefits. It also contributes to a stronger entourage effect. If it enters your bloodstream, through smoking, or an edible, it produces the euphoric high that cannabis is known for, but our products, if used on the skin, will never be intoxicating.

Safflower

Vitamin E

(TOCOPHEROL)

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant, helping both protect cells from damage throughout your body as well as keeping our product fresh longer. Vitamin E is also an anti-inflammatory agent–several studies have supported its prevention of inflammatory damage after UV exposure.

Comfrey

Comfrey

(Symphytum officinale)

Comfrey has been used for hundreds of years in western herbal medicine for healing bruises, scrapes and sprains. Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, along with other substances including mucilage polysaccharides and phenolic acids that reduce inflammation and keep skin healthy. There are studies showing the effacacy of comfrey preparations in healing the skin. We love it as an addition to our massage/body oil!

  1. Jay Grenfell

I surf and play handball and get hit with injuries from time to time. Most recently I strained my Achilles bad enough to make it tough to walk. I iced and stretched for a couple days to no avail. Then I remembered I had Green Bee’s Deep Calm cannabis oil so I massaged that in to my Achilles. To my happy surprise, I had a completely pain-free round of golf the next day. This product works and I will order more.

  2. Bronwyn H., 45, Alameda

5 stars for this massage oil because it helped with stiffness and swelling, while also smelling great and feeling hydrating but not greasy.

  3. Anthony J., 38, Oakland (@nxtleveledibles)

I work a tech job during the day, and follow my side hustle dreams with my gourmet cannabis bakery, Next Level Edibles. When my wrists ache or my skin is extra dry, I use Green Bee’s Deep Calm Massage Oil with THC and CBD. It soothes the joints and muscles in my hands and wrists. And as a baker, I appreciate the scent—it’s herbal but not pungent. My wife is pregnant and has a super sensitive nose, and she loves the smell, which is different from a lot of other medicinal rubs.

  4. Robert (Berkeley)

I’m not usually an early adapter, but I did have the original Mac in 1985, and after typing millions of words on its descendants over the past 30 years, my wrists are often a source of torment. The best relief I’ve found for pain and swelling is Green Bee Botanicals’ Deep Calm Massage Oil. If you suffer from similar repetitive-motion-induced agony, give this remedy a try. Combined with an ergonomic keyboard, it might just save your wrists.

  5. Cody, 31, Orange County

I have tried dozens of cannabis pain topicals, from creams to balms to oils, because I work in the industry, and Green Bee’s massage oil is by far the most effective, easiest to apply, and deepest penetrating topical I have ever used. I tried it out of desperation because I hurt my wrist, and combined with a deep massage, I went from not being able to even scrub a dish to zero pain in 2 applications over 2 nights. I then tried it on a chronic neck pain I’ve had for 4 years, and it almost completely eliminates my muscle pain after 2 applications plus massage (which has never worked by itself). No other topical has given me lasting, complete relief like this. I love it so much I want to work for Green Bee!

  6. Joe S., Fresno

I only gave it a try because my wife gave it to me. I was skeptical. And even after getting relief from using it on my hip, back and shoulder, I was still convinced it was just a placebo effect. But one bottle and two months later I admit: it works. It’s better than Advil.
